It seems Tanmay Bhat of comic group AIB took things a bit too far when he posted a video on Facebook titled Sachin vs Lata Civil War. The video didn’t sit well with Bollywood actors like Anupam Kher, Riteish Deshmukh and Celina Jaitly, who criticised Tanmay for roasting Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar. They called the video “not funny”. Read: AIB returns with a hilarious video
Tanmay is seen taking jibes at the 86-year-old melody queen and the 43-year-old cricketing legend in the two-minute video that was posted on his Snapchat and Facebook.
Earlier in 2015, AIB had dealt with FIRs, trolls and abuses when they did a roast of actors Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, and filmmaker Karan Johar.
The group even drew flak from the film industry, including actors Aamir Khan, Mallika Sherawat and Farida Jalal, but they maintained that they will not change their style for anyone. Watch the post here:
Some of the punchlines used against Mangeshkar in the video include ‘Jon Snow also died, so should you’, ‘your face looks like someone has kept you in water for eight days.’
Tanmay might have tried to ward negative comments with the caption accompanying the Facebook post, where he wrote: Sachin vs Lata Civil War (I make such nonsense on my Snapchat – follow me there – ID: Thetanmay) (Also I obvously love Lata and Sachin, just having some fun).
But that didn’t really have much of a pacifying effect.

“Am absolutely shocked. Disrespect is not cool and neither is it funny,” wrote Riteish.
A shocked Jaitly wrote, “Absolutely.. Shocked and appalled. Not amused. Lata Mangeshkarji needs to be apologised to NOW!!”
Tanmay clearly hit the wrong notes with this one, as many Facebook users too were not too amused by his post.

It has been more than two years since Sarabjit Singh languished in Lahore’s jail for 22 years before passing away on May 2, 2013.
Sarbjit Singh’s name would have remained unknown to all of us, if on one unfortunate night, he didn’t stray on an unmarked India-Pak border, which eventually cost him his life. He was arrested at the Kasur border on the night of August 30, 1990. From here began his heart-breaking journey of ordeal, until he was stabbed repeatedly in the jail, leading to his death on the spot.
Here’s a timeline of the entire case: August 1990: Sarabjit Singh was detained after straying on the India-Pakistan Border. September, 1990: Sarabjit Singh found guilty and sentenced to death in Lahore. May 1991: First letter arrives from Sarbjit to Dalbir stating he is in Pakistani prison and gives other required details of the case.
August 1991: Date of execution is announced December 2001: High Court rejects Sarabjit’s appeal in Lahore.
Summer of 2003: Sarbjit sends an image of himself in chains, which leads to the intervention of human rights activists who help him from removing of shackles for the first time in 12 years.
July 2005: Dalbir Joins BJP. She and Navjot Siddhu garner support from the audience as elections approach. August 2005: Pakistan Supreme Court quashes Sarabjit’s appeal. Reason cited – Appeal filed late. March 2006: Dalbir and her family threaten to commit suicide after the rejection of latest petition. March 2008: Dalbir meets Rahul Gandhi. April 2008: Pervez Musharraf rejects Sarabjit’s mercy petition, but stayed for 30 days.
April 2008: The entire family visit Pakistan to meet Sarabjit and stay there for 6 days.
July 2009: Sarabjit gets a new lawyer, Awais Sheikh. Summer 2009: 3rd review petition turned down July 2009: New petition filed by Awais Shaikh before president. February 2010: 2nd petition filed by Awais Shaikh before president.
March 2011: Awais Shaikh files a new application in the Supreme Court for reopening the case on March 2016. The information is forwarded to President Zardari, but again, investigations are used as a cover up to delay the case.
April 2011: Third petition filed by Awais Shaikh. June 2011: Dalbir meet Sarabjit for the second time. June 2012: President Asif Zardari signed a document commuting Sarbjit’s death sentence to life in prison. A life sentence in Pakistan generally lasts 14 years. Singh, having spent 22 years in jail, was therefore to be released. December 2012: Pakistan’s minister Rehman Malik assures Dalbir that Sarabjit will be released soon.
April 2013: Sarabjit attacked with bricks and plates by two inmates of Lahore Jail on April 26. It’s the same date when he met his family five years ago.
April 2013: Declared brain dead. Ventilator pulled off and Sarbjit dies on Pakistani soil.
Sarbjit and his family’s journey has been painful. It still is, their wait for 23 years ended on a note none of us would have wished for it to end. What’s saddening is that there are so many other Sarabjit’s out there who are going through the same ordeal yet, waiting to see the light of the day. How many more Sarbjit’s will have to die a similar death? When will the world realize their insecurities must remain within their borders and not walk over humanity. Sigh.
Actress Sushmita Sen went on a nostalgic trip as she celebrated 22 years of Miss Universe crowning today.
The 40-year-old model-turned-actress, who was the first Indian women to win the crown of Miss Universe in 1994, took to Twitter to thank people, who helped her in her pursuit.
She even shared and retweeted old pictures from her Miss Universe days.
It was earlier reported that director Sai Kabeer's 'Divine Lovers' will star Zareen Khan opposite Irrfan. After Kangana Ranaut bowed out of the project, it was said that Zareen had stepped into Kangana's shoes and was to be mentored by Irrfan himself. After evading multiple questions on this, Irrfan has cleared the air and reportedly said, "I am still figuring out the project, and I haven't signed it yet. Unlike the rumours, Zareen, too, hasn't been confirmed. I am happy that several film-makers are considering me for their projects. However, if and when I do a movie, people will hear about it directly from me."
Sai and Kangana had worked together on 'Revolver Rani' but since the film was delayed by quite some time, Kangana couldn't be a part of this project. Sai, in an interview, had said that the actress is like his sister and despite this film not working out for them, there is no bad blood between them.
01Bajrangi Bhaijaan A different offering from Salman Khan's world of talent, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was not just another masala flick and managed to win the hearts of millions with its touching subject and emotional connect. This story of an Indian who takes the responsibility of taking a deaf and mute Pakistani girl to her country not only became the biggest blockbuster of the year but also inspired others to follow in Bhaijaan’s footsteps.
02 Tanu Weds Manu Returns Regarded as Kangana Ranaut’s best work till date, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ proved to be a big box-office success. Kangana convincingly played the role of Datto – a Haryanvi sportswoman, besides continuing with the role of the motor mouth, Tanu, just like she did in the prequel. Hailed by the audience and critics alike, the film was a very humourous one with most memorable dialogue and scenes.
03Talvar Meghna Gulzar walked the thin rope between reality and cinema with ‘Talvar’ which was widely praised by critics and audience alike. Based on the Aarushi Talwar double murder case, the film was sharp and crisp as it presented contrasting views. With a gripping plot, haunting story and bold depiction, ‘Talvar’ emerged as the top favourite among those looking for some substance amid starry masala Bollywood flicks.
04Titli Kanu Behl’s ‘Titli’ opened to excellent ratings from several critics. This tale of a crime inflicting a dysfunctional family which makes a living out of car thefts stunned the audience with how such a chaotic family could exist and survive. How Titli charges his wife to let her meet her lover and how the family wishes to go to Vaishno Devi after committing a crime successfully, made for a thrilling watch. While Dibakar Banerjee called ‘Titli’ as Ranvir Shorey’s best film till date, the film also had very convincing performances from Shashank Arora in the title role and Amit Sial as his elder brother, Pradeep.
05 Piku The mere subject of ‘constipation’ and the most unusual starcast combo of Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan made ‘Piku’ - a film that’s just not to be missed. How Deepika takes her health obsessed father to Calcutta via a road trip was worth a watch. Listening to her father’s weird discussions on the colour of his faeces to dealing with her own life’s choices, ‘Piku’ was surprisingly different.
06 Bajirao Mastani Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’ managed to beat ‘Dilwale’ at the domestic box-office. With the fearless Ranveer stepping into the shoes of Bajirao Peshwa and Deepika Padukone wielding the sword in the battlefield, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ emerged as one of the most loved movies of the year after ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan.’ The film had it all - from a love story, romance, grandeur, battle and struggle.
07 Margarita With A Straw Being a non-commercial film, ‘Margarita With A Straw’ could not rule the box-office but was highly appreciated for its subject and Kalki Koechlin’s portrayal of the wheel-chair ridden, paralysed girl, who believes in living a normal life. How she survives in the world with her mom’s support and how she falls in love with a girl, makes up for an emotional story that yearns to be heard. The film was a big hit at international film festivals too.
08Drishyam Ajay Devgn surprised everyone with the nail-biting thriller, ‘Drishyam,’ which had received a positive response from the audience and critics alike. The suspense drama revolving around a father going all out to protect his family had unexpected twists and turns. As Tabu played a strong-willed officer and mother of the missing boy and Ajay Devgn, a wise and caring father, the film made for a wonderful suspense flick that deserves to be appreciated.
09 Masaan‘Masaan’ was hailed at several international film festivals and had even received a teary-eyed, standing ovation at the Cannes. The film told stories of a girl ( Richa Chadha ) caught by the police in an objectionable position with her boyfriend and a low-caste corpse burner who falls in love with a high-caste girl. How the tragedies of life bring two people from different walks of life together at the cremation ground was different and worth watching. This one should just not be missed.
10 NH10 Breaking free from entertaining flicks, Anushka Sharma set the benchmark high with her debut production, ‘NH10.’ This story of a metropolitan couple who go on a road trip but land in hell when they try to help out a girl being dragged by a gang of goons.
Story: Tony Stark (Downey Jr.) and Steve Rogers have a difference of opinion over the Sokovia Accords, created by the United Nations, that seeks to create a governing body for the Avengers. Stark is in favour while Rogers prefers them to be free to act on their own instincts and thoughts. A series of events involving a multitude of superheroes from the Marvel Universe, intrigue and different kinds of motivation, leads to a clash between Iron Man and Captain America, among others.
Review: Without giving away anything that might spoil this treat for Marvel and superhero fans, let's just say that Captain America: Civil War is essentially like a battle royale between superheroes like you've never seen before. And in a way that doesn't bludgeon your senses into numb submission, like some other superhero films we've seen of late.

The Russo duo has managed to handle this ensemble cast of superheroes and their personalities with a certain deftness of touch that has to be seen to be believed. Black Panther, Spiderman, Captain America, Black Widow, Winter Soldier... well, pretty much all of them put in some seriously convincing performances. Downey Jr's Stark-isms have been dialed down here, allowing us to get a glimpse of his real side, as being more than just a one-liner machine. But truth be told, it is Evans who steals the show. Enough said.
As for the action and cinematography, one word - amazing. The climax action sequence at Leipzig/Halle airport is something that might just leave you breathless. It is 17 minutes long (that's right) and is straight up the stuff of legend. And no, entire cities and buildings need not be leveled to make a good group fight scene.
Rogers' mistrust regarding new-world values (compared to the time he was from) is nicely explored. His unwillingness to compromise on his code is seen to great effect. There is darkness, there is depth, but the important thing is that the element of fun is also most definitely present. Oh and needless to say, don't miss Stan Lee's cameo and do stay for the post-credits scene.
Story: A disclaimer at the start says that it is not a biopic on the life of one of the most celebrated and controversial Indian cricket captains Mohammad Azharuddin(Emraan). So the makers hoodwink you submission that it is not a biopic. But one has also to be blind, not to be able to see the similarities between Azhar's life and this film.
Review: You stay invested here because the material at hand combines India's two religions-cricket and films. Of course, this generation would rather see biopics on MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli. But, to give the devil his due, Azhar was an idol in the 80-90s. The film traces the rise of a prodigy born into a modest Muslim household in Hyderabad. As early as his 20s, he goes on to become one of the most accomplished Indian batsman and a paisa-vasool fielder.

Touching on Azhar's blazing test journey prophesied by his maternal grandfather (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), who tells him that he should invest in the flick of the wrist, not futile conversations, we are shown how the Muslim boy with `Mohammad' in his name, becomes an overnight rage after he slams back-to-back centuries. It is interesting to see how cricketers like Ravi (Gautam), Manoj (Karanvir) and Navjot (Manjot) who patronize him initially, later resent his rise as the Indian captain. The trappings of fame also rock his personal life. He strays from his arranged marriage to Naureen(Prachi) to an extra-marital affair with a Bollywood actress, Sangeeta(Nargis). And if that is not all, his career is threatened by a match-fixing allegation that forces him to take legal recourse.
His desire to play a hundred tests remains a pipe dream because he is banned after his 99th nine. Without giving away too much, here one must add that the court-room drama with Reddy (Kunal) defending him and Meera (Lara) against him, is partly banal, partly an eye-opener. Emraan bears no physical resemblance to Azharruddin. However his mannerisms—the blinking of his eyes and swagger add to a knockout performance.
Story: After sleeping for nearly a millennium, the world's first mutant Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) comes back to life. He is utterly displeased with the turn of events over the last few centuries. Since he can change bodies and imbibe fresh powers, he decides to take things in his hands. As he builds his army of four horsemen, Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) and his students are faced with the cumbersome task of stopping the evil force that will end the world as they know it.
Review: At one point in the film, four of Xavier's students watch Return Of The Jedi and one of them quips, "Well, we can all agree that the third one is always the worst." Presumably, it was a word of caution for this film.

Watch: ‘X-Men Apocalypse’ movie premiere
Director Bryan Singer starts on a promising note, weaving a marvellous back story of the ancient mutant. The first hour is well crafted with ample thrills - a young boy comes to terms with his powers and Magneto(Michael Fassbender) has denounced his former mutant life and is comfortable being the family man, content with singing lullabies to his daughter. You never feel the weight of the first half as Singer whisks you through the lives of the past and present characters. You take an instant liking to the new mutants Nightcrawler and Cyclops, as the older ones effortlessly command your interest.
But the tricky part begins once the meet-and-greet is over. With a horde of characters, Singer gets overambitious. He wants to say a lot, but there is little plot to help him do that. The flaw lies not in the acting prowess of the cast or in the flattering action, but in the screenplay. The baddies are not menacing enough, especially Apocalypse, whose undefined powerful persona runs out of steam. It is usually not a good sign when the climax is devoid of suspense and mass-scale destruction fails to invoke fear.
With Professor Xavier reminding Magneto that there is good in him, a scene from the luminous First Class flashes, making you wish you were watching that one instead. This is strictly for the fans!
